The 2-day auction of players for the 9th Pro Kabaddi League took place on 5th and 6th August in Mumbai. In this brisk auction, Tamil Thalaivas team bought Pawan Sehrawat for Rs. 2.26 crore, making it the most expensive signing in PKL history.
Sehrawat has been the number one rider in the last three Pro Kabaddi League seasons. He led Bengaluru Bulls to the playoffs last season. And under his captaincy, Indian Railways won three senior national championships.
Looking at his impressive record in Pro Kabaddi, we can expect him to be the backbone of Tamil Thalaivas this season. The ability of young raiders Ajinkya Pawar and Himanshu will help him in the raiding department.

Ajinkya Pawar scored 108 raid points in 18 matches for Tamil Thalaivas last season. Whereas Himanshu scored 38 raid points in 10 games including a super raid. Sagar Rathi and Vishwanath V will be the bulwark of the team’s two corners this season.
Right corner defender Rathi scored the most defending points in the previous season and won the best defender award. Similarly, left corner defender Vishwanath V impressed the fans with an all-round show for Tamil Nadu in the 69th Senior National Championship.
Left cover defender Mohit scored 24 defending points in 20 matches for Tamil Thalaivas last season. So, we can expect him to play in the same position this season as well.
Abhishek played in just seven games last season and scored 12 defensive points. Improved performances from Mohit and Abhishek are expected to help the team move into the top 6 in the points table this year.
