A disturbing incident occurred on Thanksgiving in Brentwood, California, when pro-Palestinian protestors targeted the home of a Jewish family. The protestors allegedly threw smoke bombs and fake blood onto the driveway of the home, prompting an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.

The LAPD responded to the home on Foxboro Drive and took reports for vandalism, hate crime, and assault with a deadly weapon. Video of the incident has been circulating on social media, bringing attention to the targeted attack.

Former Beverly Hills mayor Lili Bosse shared the video on Instagram, expressing her shock and calling for consequences to the “terroristic hate crime.” Despite the severity of the incident, the LAPD stated that no citations were issued and no arrests were made.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass also addressed the incident, stating that she spoke with police Chief Michel Moore about the “disturbing incident.” Additionally, LAPD went on “tactical alert” due to a demonstration in the area of 3rd Street and Fairfax, where protestors caused traffic delays by blocking intersections.

City Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky, representing the 5th District, which includes the Fairfax neighborhood, emphasized the importance of upholding the First Amendment right to protest while denouncing hate and violence. She stated that safety and security must not be compromised in response to the protest.

The incident has sparked concern and condemnation from local leaders, highlighting the need to address and prevent hate-motivated actions in the community. The investigation into the targeted attack on the Jewish family in Brentwood is ongoing.
