Problem of house construction permit in Gram Natham lands

by time news
CHENNAI: Construction industry has complained that even though the Gram Natham has got the land title, there is a problem in getting the permission to build houses.

The lands so allocated shall not be used for commercial purposes; Various restrictions were imposed to prevent poor people from selling out due to poverty.

Now, in the context of changing socio-economic conditions, there has been a problem in building houses on these lands and getting bank loans for them.

Keeping this in mind, village wise, village natham lands are being surveyed and revenue department is issuing patta to the owners.

After obtaining the permit, if the owners approach the local bodies to build the house, the building permit is denied.

In this regard, the executives of the Indian Association of Builders said:

Gram Natham lands are residential. The authorities should treat the land as residential when the lease is issued.

But when it comes to planning permission, various questions are raised regarding the classification of land.

Village Natham lands with duly registered deed and deed should be treated as residential plots and construction plan permission should be granted.

In this regard, we have appealed to the Chief Minister to issue appropriate instructions to the authorities. We hope to get a solution soon.

Thus they said.
