Actor Sivakarthikeyan has filed a petition in the Chennai High Court seeking an order from producer Gnanaveel Raja to pay the outstanding salary due to him for the film Mr. Local.

A reply has been filed on behalf of producer Gnanavell Raja in this case. In the petition, Sivakarthikeyan has been offered a salary of Rs 1 crore for his role in Studio Green’s production and was offered a contract of Rs 10 lakh in 2013. Unable to shoot, a new contract was signed in 2018 and Sivakarthikeyan was offered a salary of Rs 15 crore and Rs 12 crore 78 lakh.

However, producer Gnanavel Raja said in his reply that he did not like the story of Mr. Local and that the film was made because Sivakarthikeyan forced Rajesh to be the director of the film and that he lost Rs 20 crore due to the film.

Producer Gnanavel Raja has said that actor Sivakarthikeyan had ruthlessly pressured him to pay the remaining Rs 2 crore 40 lakh along with taxes.

Producer Gnanavel Raja said in the reply that Sivakarthikeyan had told the distributors not to pay Rs 2 crore 40 lakh and not to let the distributors get into trouble, as the distributors were in crisis over the loss incurred in the film.
