Store, Producers from the El Ingenio parish, in the Espíndola canton, in the province of Loja, participated in a field day where a demonstration plot focused on the cultivation of nightshades, specifically kidney tomato, was presented, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG). ), to promote agricultural innovation and improve productivity in the sector.

In the event, organized by the Loja District Directorate of the MAG, local agricultural producers participated, who had the opportunity to share experiences and learn about the results obtained through the technological packages delivered through the subsidy provided by the National Productive Incentives Project for the Agricultural Sector (PNIPSA) of the MAG.

Augusta Correa, Loja District Director of the MAG, highlighted the importance of this type of events to support local producers in improving the performance of their crops and reducing production costs.

“Through PNIPSA, the Ministry seeks to provide the necessary support so that our farmers can reach their maximum potential and contribute to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector,” Correa stated.

During the field day, experiences and work techniques were exchanged in various aspects of crop management, including agroecological conditions, microclimate, tomato varieties, fertilization practices, plant transplantation, irrigation systems, pruning, pest control and diseases, both in the harvest stage and in the post-harvest.

This event not only provided a space for learning and support among local producers, but also served as a platform to promote the adoption of sustainable and technologically advanced agricultural practices, thus boosting the competitiveness and growth of the agricultural sector in the region, as which had the participation of the private company.
