The reduction in production taxes, decided in 2020 as part of the recovery plan and initiated in 2021, is a marker of Emmanuel Macron’s first mandate. By significantly reducing this category of taxes, accused of harming French competitiveness, the executive wanted to give a boost to the reindustrialization of the country.
