Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yosef was elected Chairman of the National Board of Health Services

The public committee for the election of Leumit Health Services’ chairman, headed by (retired) judge Eitan Orenstein, has elected Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yosef as chairman of Leumit’s board, and he is expected to replace Yaakov (Koki) Edri, Leumit’s veteran chairman of The last 15 years. The appointment will take effect on July 1, 2022.

The public committee, which also includes Prof. Gabi Ben-Nun and Dr. Yitzhak Berlowitz, held an open procedure for electing the chairman, in accordance with the fund’s bylaws, and after examining the candidates who approached and interviewing some of them, the committee decided Prof. Mor-Yosef.

Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yosef, a physician, specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, until recently served as the director general of the Population and Immigration Authority and before that as the director general of the National Insurance Institute. For many years, Prof. managed the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, and before that for a few years also the Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva.

In accordance with the regulations, Prof. Mor-Yosef will also be appointed director, and this appointment will take effect on May 1, 2022.
