The popular professional soccer K-League has surpassed 3 million paid spectators for two consecutive years.

According to the Korea Professional Football League, 9,383 spectators attended the 35th round K League 1 match between Gangwon FC and Gimcheon Sangmu, which kicked off at 2 p.m. on the 26th, and 2,399 spectators attended the K League 2 Jeonnam Dragons and Cheonan City FC match.

As a result, the cumulative paid audience for K-League 1 this season was 2,211,845, and the paid audience for K-League 2 was 788,943, bringing the total paid audience for K-League 1 to 2 to 3,007,88.

The K-League, which exceeded 3 million paid spectators last season for the first time since it began counting paid spectators in 2018, surpassed 3 million paid spectators this year faster than last year.

Last season, a total of 3,011,509 people attended the 38th round, the last game of K League 1, but this season, the number of spectators exceeded 3 million after 35 rounds of K League 1.

In terms of the number of games, it was achieved in 416 games (205 games in K League 1, 211 games in K League 2), which is 48 games shorter than last season’s 464 games (228 games in K League 1, 236 games in K League 2).

By team, 11 out of 12 K League 1 teams and 11 out of 13 K League 2 teams showed an increase in average attendance compared to last season.

In K League 1, FC Seoul exceeded 400,000 spectators for home games for two consecutive seasons, and Ulsan HD exceeded 300,000 spectators for home games for two consecutive seasons.

Suwon Samsung was the only K League 2 team to record an average attendance of over 10,000.
