Samuel, K-League’s first homegrown player
Yoon Ki-wook and Baek Jong-beom are evaluated as successors.
Lim Jun-seop leaves Jeju as a free agent and joins Seoul.
FC Seoul, a professional soccer team in K-League 1, announced on the 3rd that it has recruited three prospects for the 2025 season.
Three players, including Bato Samuel (19) and Yoon Ki-wook (19), who went straight to the professional ranks after graduating from Osan High School in Seoul (hereinafter referred to as Osan High School), and Lim Jun-seop (22), a promising goalkeeper from Jeju United, have joined Seoul.
Seoul, which has begun full-scale preparations for the 2025 season by recruiting three experienced veteran players including Kim Jin-soo, Moon Seon-min, and Jeong Seung-won, has also strengthened three new talents who will lead the future.
Seoul, which recruited two ‘Osan High School Kids’ who will be responsible for the future and a promising goalkeeper, was able to lay the foundation for the club’s continued growth through a balanced combination of old and new.
Through its affiliated youth team Osan High School, Seoul has been steadily producing key players for the team every year, such as Kim Joo-seong, Baek Jong-beom, Kang Seong-jin, Park Seong-hoon, Hwang Do-yoon, and Kang Joo-hyuk.
Bateau Samuel, a side resource of Ivorian nationality who has been attracting attention for his aggressive breakthrough using explosive speed since his days at Osan High School, achieved his dream of going straight to the professional ranks by benefiting from the homegrown system that will be introduced from the 2025 season.
Bateau Samuel, who holds the title of K-League’s first homegrown player, is a player who has been evaluated as having high-level shooting ability and finishing ability to score.
Goalkeeper Yoon Ki-wook, who is highly anticipated as he is considered the successor to Baek Jong-beom, a senior at Osan High School who is about to enlist in the military, is a resource that shows strength in game coordination based on his stable ball-handling ability.
Above all, with his excellent kicking ability, he has excellent rear build-up ability and has been recognized for his potential by being consistently selected for national teams at each age level.
Goalkeeper Lim Jun-seop, who joined Seoul as a free agent, has strengths in aerial ball handling and build-up ability based on his tall height of 194 cm. With the addition of Lim Jun-seop, a new engine was added to Seoul’s goal, which was currently dominated by Kang Hyun-moo and Choi Cheol-won, creating a much stronger goal goal squad.
The three new engines who have completed their contracts will join the training starting on the 3rd and work hand in hand with the Seoul players.
