“We know that farmers have a much higher risk of Parkinson’s. People living near agricultural fields have a higher risk of the disease. And if you give the pesticides that are used on the land to a mouse, it damages the very area that is involved in Parkinson’s and that mouse also develops Parkinson’s symptoms,” says Bloem.
