The use of artificial intelligence has been a breakthrough in many ways, but like any new technology, there are also risks of its misuse. An example of this is the use of tools such as ChatGPT to distort the Holy Bible, changing or creating false verses to convey a message that the true Word of God does not register.
That’s what a Reddit profile named Psychological_Dog527 did. The platform user, who supposedly represents the LGBT+ community, claimed that because he was feeling “sad”, he decided to ask artificial intelligence to falsify what the Bible really teaches about human sexuality.
“I was feeling sad today, so I asked ChatGPT to write a fake Bible passage about Jesus accepting trans people,” the user reported, according to information from the Yahoo.
The result, then, was the creation of a fictitious verse that ignores God’s purpose established in His creation regarding family formation, not only based on the human psyche, but on its own distinct biological constitution between the male and female sexes, according to Matthew 19:4-8, among other biblical verses.
Artificial intelligence suggested: “And a woman, whose heart was divided between spirit and body, came to him. In silent desperation she asked: ‘Lord, I come to you from afar, for my spirit and body are not one. How shall I expect to enter the kingdom of God?’”.
Afterwards, the false Jesus created by ChatGPT replies: “My daughter, blessed are those who fight for unity within themselves, for they will know the deepest truths of my Father’s creation. there is neither male nor female, for they are all one in spirit.”
Alert to Christians
The use of artificial intelligence has already been the subject of concern by some Christian leaders. According to expert Dan Schneider, from the Media Research Center, also vice president of Free Speech America, this type of resource could be used as a “weapon” against Christianity.
This is because, according to Schneider, it is enough for a certain political-ideological spectrum to want to use this technology as a form of “updated” moral standardization, for example, for millenary teachings such as those of the Bible to begin to be treated as invalid.
