Daud Yordan started learning boxing when he was 6 years old. At that time he started training with his older brother Damianus Yordan at Asana Ketapang Putra.
When he became a professional boxer, Daud managed to win his first 23 fights. Most of his wins came against national level opponents.
The boxer known as The Senator suffered his first professional defeat against Celestino Caballero. However, this victory did not dim David’s light.
Daud won his first minor belt, the WBO Asia-Pacific featherweight championship belt, after defeating Damian David Marchiano. He then fought for the WBA featherweight title against Chris John on 17 April 2011 at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran, Jakarta.
Daud lost again by unanimous decision. But Daud continued to fight higher opponents, which resulted in him winning the IBO featherweight title after defeating Lorenzo Villanueva.
