Let’s give CXANCE to disability! for job insertion for people with disabilities

The pilot project “Let’s give CXANCE to disability!» aims to promote the Effective job placement of people with disabilities in GuatemalaThis initiative seeks to transform the reality of a portion of the more than 85 million people living with a disability in Latin America, of which nearly 70% are unemployed, according to data from the World Bank. With this problem as a starting point, the project aims to generate more employment opportunities for those who face labor barriers due to their condition.

Launched at the end of August, this project was made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Program Valentina and the Costa Rican company Inclusive Plural. The platform offers an innovative model of labour inclusion that involves both companies and candidates, promoting a more effective integration process.

Some companies have already joined the program, demonstrating their support and commitment to work and learn from the project to strengthen their labor inclusion processes and generate more employment opportunities for people with disabilities in their organizations: Banco Industrial, Cemaco, La Torre, Progreso, BAC and McDonald’s.

A training and support program for companies and candidates

“Let’s give CXANCE to disability!” not only aims to offer employment, but also to strengthen the capabilities and personal development of participants through a training and support process, which will also be provided to companies. The goal is for people with disabilities to achieve greater autonomy, productivity and self-esteem, key elements for their self-realization in the work environment.

The impact of this initiative is reflected not only in the creation of formal jobs and the economic stability they generate, but also in the opportunity that participants will have to build a new perspective on life.

The phases of the process

The program follows a structured process in four consecutive phases, in order to ensure that both companies and candidates receive the right support and preparation. These phases will allow Programa Valentina to collect more than 1,000 data points on each candidate, ensuring that hiring processes are more objective and effective. The phases include:

  1. Call for applications and needs analysis.
  2. Training and certification.
  3. Company/talent match.
  4. Post-hiring support.
