There will be no programmers left in the world in five years, because by 2028 all their activities will be taken over by artificial intelligence systems, said Emad Mostak, founder and CEO of Stability AI. He made his prediction on the air of the Moonshots and Mindsets podcast, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.
“In five years there will be no programmers in the world. GitHub data shows that already 41% of all code is generated by AI,” he said.
According to Mostak, the future for programmers does not look very bright. “In three months, the topic of AI in GitHub trends has overtaken Bitcoin and Ethereum, the two main cryptocurrencies, in popularity,” the businessman stated.
Mostak also said that as early as 2024, the conditions for access to AI will be simplified. “By the end of next year, you will have ChatGPT on your mobile phone without an internet connection. With constant access to AI, our interactions could change radically,” he stated.
The head of Stability AI said that he sees AI as a tool that expands human potential, and not as a threat that destroys it. “People are people. Bring them the information that creates the most value, and you will change the world,” Mostak concluded.
