The incident took place on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, but the report of the incident was received by the Israel Police in the morning.
The police say that in light of the severity of the incident, it was decided to establish a special investigation team which led to the arrest of two suspects involved in the incident, residents of Be’er Sheva. During the arrest of one of the suspects, he tried to stab a police officer using numbers. The officer was not injured.
As stated, the two were arrested and transferred for further investigation at the Be’er Sheva police station. Today, the Magistrate’s Court in Be’er Sheva ordered their detention to continue until March 16.
With the development of the investigation into the incident, another suspect, a 50-year-old resident of Be’er Sheva, was arrested in connection with the incident. He will be brought before a court tomorrow.
