The registration process for financial compensation for the stabilization of the prices of extra and ecopaís gasoline for taxi, tricycle and van drivers is progressing satisfactorily.
According to data from the Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP), to date, 50% of transporters have completed their registration on the platform enabled by this State portfolio.
The registry, which is based on the register established in May 2024 with approximately 84,000 transporters, has reached nearly 49,000 registered users as of July 5. Of these, approximately 42,000 have bank accounts ready to receive compensation.
To ensure the success of the process, the MTOP has organized several awareness workshops in different provinces of the country. Transporters who have not yet registered can do so through the website: www.obraspublicas.gob.ec, or contact by email at [email protected] to resolve any questions.
To complete the registration, you must have your ID, fingerprint code or RUC, a bank certificate in PDF format and the documents that prove your authorization as a commercial public transport.
The registration platform will be available permanently. If any beneficiary failed to register in June, they can do so in July. This measure will be in effect for four months, until September 24, 2024, allowing beneficiaries to receive compensation in an accumulated manner. The Government reaffirms its commitment to protect users and maintain transportation rates. In the first cut in June, USD 957,840.15 was delivered to 24,259 transporters as part of the compensation.
