With the aim of improving road connectivity in the country’s coastal area, the Minister of Public Works, Romeo Rodríguez, supervised the expansion works on the Litoral Highway, going from two to four lanes.

These roads are from El Obispo beach to Bitcoin Beach, in El Zonte; which consists of a 23-kilometer stretch, which includes from the entrance to the Camino A Surf City bypass until reaching the city of the La Libertad district.

“The Surf City phase 2 project has been divided into three sections. At this time we have contracted the first one, which consists of the four-kilometer extension from El Obispo to the Conchalío roundabout, which is the exit of the bypass. (The project) includes underground cabling in the city of La Libertad, more than five squares, more than five public spaces that will be improved; it also includes the construction of 14 new bridges,” explained Rodríguez.

The project will benefit more than 40,000 drivers who travel daily through this sector, as well as residents of different sectors of La Libertad Costa and its different districts.
