jpnn.comJAKARTA – Deputy Minister of Religion (Wamenag) Saiful Rahmat Dasuki appreciated the seminar and workshop (Semiloka) on Strengthening Religious Moderation in Higher Education organized by the Ministry of Religion’s Research, Development and Training Agency.

The activity, which carries the theme ‘Building a Moderate Religious Ecosystem’, is part of the effort to maintain diversity in Indonesia.

The Deputy Minister of Religion said that seeing the potential and existing phenomena of disharmony, the spirit of religious moderation (MB) must continue to be promoted.

“In accordance with the theme, we really hope that the MB implementation ecosystem will be present and grow in the university environment,” he said in Jakarta, Thursday (18/7) evening.

Head of the Research and Development and Training Agency, Suyitno, said that the Seminar and Workshop on Strengthening Religious Moderation was a collaboration between the Ministry of Religion and the Indonesian Rectors Forum (FRI).

The activity successfully brought together representatives of universities consisting of 54 PTN, 63 PTKN, 18 PTS, and 10 Vocational.

“The series of activities have been carried out productively, divided into three sessions, namely building an MB ecosystem in higher education, practice and innovation in implementing MB in higher education, and in-depth study with MB facilitators,” explained Suyitno.

From the results of the presentation and discussion, Asta Aksi was born as a commitment to building an ecosystem of religious moderation in universities, which was signed by representatives of rectors and leaders of universities throughout Indonesia.

Deputy Minister of Religion Saiful Rahmat Dasuki said that the spirit of Religious Moderation in the university environment must be encouraged because of the potential for disharmony.
