Promotion of entrepreneurship in cybersecurity | Entrepreneurs

The National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE) will promote initiatives that encourage entrepreneurship, especially in those provinces and regions that are less business-developed in the field of cybersecurity.

These types of initiatives will be carried out within the framework of INCIBE Emprende. In this sense, actions will be carried out that support the incubation and acceleration of companies through the Ciberemprende, Cybersecurity Ventures and express acceleration programs.

The activities organized as a result of this will include training workshops, talks and development programs with the aim of sizing the cybersecurity business ecosystem.

These programs are aimed at entities and organizations of the regional and local Administration, as well as universities, foundations, public and private accelerators or organizations that include support for entrepreneurship.

Recovery Plan

To carry out these programs, INCIBE will contribute 30 million euros financed with European funds from the Recovery Plan. The actions must be organized under a co-financing regime under the INCIBE brand and that of the collaborating entity. Thus, INCIBE will contribute a maximum of 70% of the costs of the initiatives that meet these requirements; the remaining 30% will correspond to the collaborating entity.

These programs are part of the Digital Spain agenda of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain. It must be taken into account that the maximum term to carry out these actions is 4 years, which would end in 2026. Entities that wish to do so may submit their applications throughout the year 2023.

This initiative aims to accompany Spanish entrepreneurs and startups in the field of cybersecurity and promote the development of projects during the different phases of the entrepreneurial process.

The National Institute of Cybersecurity has been promoting cybersecurity entrepreneurship for more than 7 years, something that is reflected in the Alumni network, a community that includes some of the most relevant cyber startups on the national and international scene.
