In view of the current context, the Security and Services Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued the following guidelines for the issue of ordinary passports based on the withdrawal and surrender of diplomatic passports.
On Thursday (August 22) along with the Director General of Immigration and Passport Directorate, Deputy Secretary of Immigration-4 Branch of Security and Service Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs. This information is known from the letter signed by Kamrujaman.
It said the following are the instructions issued in respect of issue of new passports based on withdrawal and surrender of diplomatic passports:
(a) Ex-Prime Ministers, Ex-Prime Ministers’ Advisers, Ex-Cabinet Members, All Members of the recently dissolved National Parliament, including all persons who have received diplomatic passports because they are considered eligible for diplomatic passports by virtue of their holding of any office, upon the termination of their appointment or tenure in that office and their Diplomatic passports of spouses must be revoked immediately.
(b) Among the said persons applying for ordinary passports, ordinary passports may be issued in their favor on the basis of the reports of at least two investigating agencies.
