Nedunkandam: The daughter did not give the oxygen cylinder to the 85-year-old father when the property was divided after the dispute between the sisters. Despite the intervention of the police, locals and people’s representatives, the daughter refused to hand over the cylinder.

The incident took place in Nedunkandam police station. An 85-year-old man has been suffering from respiratory failure for years. An oxygen cylinder was handed over to them for a monthly rent of Rs 500 from the government hospital to solve their breathing problem. After the property was divided, the father was taken over by a daughter. But the oxygen cylinder was at the house of the daughter who was taking care of it in the past few days. When the daughter asked to hand over the cylinder, she refused.

The daughter, who keeps the cylinder, says that she is the guarantor of the oxygen cylinder worth more than Rs 1 lakh and if the cylinder gets damaged, the responsibility will be on her. But despite the primary health center doctor’s willingness to take full responsibility of the oxygen cylinder, they were not ready to hand it over. The health department, police and people’s representatives informed that the discussion is in progress to resolve the matter.

The police and health department doctors intervened to demand the release of the cylinder, but there was no solution. It is also said that the reason for the enmity was that a complaint was filed at Nedunkandam station regarding the division of property. If there is no solution, the police have decided to take drastic action. Out of 4 children, one daughter is married in Tamil Nadu. An only son is not ready to take care of his father. Until recently, the two daughters took turns taking care of their father.
