Property tax: the bill is likely to be steep in 2023 for owners

by time news

Owners, consider putting some money aside. Your property tax could indeed increase significantly next year. This fall, many taxpayers have already had the unpleasant surprise of discovering a sharp increase in their local tax. The reason is twofold. First of all, the revaluation of the cadastral bases – recalculated each year in November according, in particular, to inflation – rose by 3.4% in 2022, mechanically increasing the property tax of all taxpayers. But the bill has also increased according to the communal rate voted by the municipalities. In Marseille (+ 13.1%), Tours (+ 11.6%) or Pau (+ 10%), tax notices have soared. Next year it could be even worse.
