The two nursing institutions of Ioannina, the Regional University General Hospital and the “Hatzikosta” Hospital, were visited by the candidate for mayor with the “Citizens’ Unity of Nea Ioannina” Thomas Begas.
During the discussions with administrators Nikos Katsakioris and Spyros Derdemezis, the prominent role of both hospitals in the health care of the residents of Ioannina and beyond was emphasized, while particular emphasis was placed on cooperation with the structures of the municipality of Ioannina. In the faction’s program, after all, as it was emphasized, there are specific proposals on how to achieve an interconnection of the structures of the Municipality (KAPI, KIFI, KDAP AmaA etc.) with the University and the Hospitals with the aim of an integrated approach to the problems residents’ health and the development of a medical-social model.
“We are very lucky that two large nursing institutions offer their services in our country. For our part, we are committed to a multifaceted cooperation through the structures of the municipality, with the aim of meeting the needs of our fellow citizens in matters of health as qualitatively as possible. I am happy because during our visits to both of our hospitals, I found that there is a similar attitude on the part of their administrations,” said Mr. Begas, who also had a meeting with the medical, nursing and administrative staff.
