The countries participating in the European Political Community (EPC) summit in the UK adopted a declaration in which Georgia proposes to use the energy resources of the countries of the North, Baltic, Caspian and Black Seas. This was reported by the press service of the Georgian government, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
“The summit declaration reflects the Georgian side’s proposal to strengthen regional ties between the Black and Caspian Seas, within the framework of which the countries of the European political association in the region of the North and Baltic Seas, together with Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, will hold a series of technical dialogues to support regional energy ties between the Black and Caspian Seas,” the statement said.
As the government added, the main goal of the dialogue will be the exchange of practical experience, resources, knowledge and expertise so that ENP members in the Black and Caspian Seas can address challenges related to regional energy and use their energy potential to produce clean energy.
The latest summit of the European Political Community opened in Oxfordshire on July 18. Georgia was represented at the event by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
