This close friend of former Guinean President Alpha Condé spent the night at the central direction of the judicial police before being brought before the Mafanco TPI where he was tried this afternoon.

At the bar, Lamine Waraba rejected the facts with which he is accused. “I did not mention the name of Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya. I just said president. And I was referring to my president Alpha Condé. I was discussing with a friend who is from the PEDN, about the results of the Alpha Condé regime. Continuing, he said that those who arrested him threatened to kill him and break up the Dabola cafe.

In the meantime, they have made calls saying they have the item. We embarked again to go to town,” he explains in court.

In his requisition, prosecutor Ibrahima Kanfory Camara asked the court not to hold Lamine Waraba Sacko guilty of insulting the head of state.

In his ruling, Justice Kanfory Ibrahima Camara found Lamine Waraba Sacko not guilty and remanded him for prosecution.

This decision delighted Me Salifou Beavogui and Me Sidiki Bérété, lawyers for this activist from the former ruling party in Guinea.
