This was conveyed by the Head of the Legal Information Center at the Attorney General’s Office (Kapuspenkum Kejagung) Harli Siregar, Attorney General’s Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (31/12).

“We are committed, and in fact we have taken legal action, filed an appeal and have registered it in court,” said Harli Siregar as reported by Antara.

According to him, the public prosecutor (JPU) is currently focusing on compiling points or arguments related to the appeal memory.

Harli Siregar explained that the AGO is still taking this step by using the trial notes as a guide, although currently they are still waiting for a copy of the decision.

“We can also use this as a guideline, as a basis for compiling the arguments that we convey. Because we know that from the perspective of the strachmat (length of demand) submitted, the public prosecutor demanded 12 years for the person concerned, but it was only decided with 6.5 years. ,” he explained.

Apart from that, Harli Siregar emphasized that the Attorney General’s Office supports President Prabowo Subianto’s statement regarding filing appeals in corruption cases where the sentences are considered light.

“We strongly support what he has stated, and we are very responsive regarding his statement, the President’s statement, which states that the verdict or court decision related to the defendant HM (Harvey Moeis) is still very light compared to the demands submitted by the prosecutor general,” he continued.
