Prosecutor of the Nation summons Dina Boluarte to testify about the deaths that occurred in the protests

President Dina Boluarte has been summoned by the National Prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, for next Tuesday, March 7.

In this summons, the statements of the president will be taken in the framework of the preliminary investigation that is being followed for the deaths that have occurred in the protests against her government and Congress.

Kelly Montenegro, Dina Boluarte’s lawyer, pointed out that they are “one hundred percent in line with what is provided by the competent authority, which in this case is the National Prosecutor.”

In addition to the president, the Prime Minister, Alberto Otárola, the Minister of the Interior, Víctor Rojas, are involved in this investigation; and Defense Minister Jorge Chávez. All of them are being investigated for the alleged crimes of genocide, qualified homicide and serious injuries, committed during the demonstrations in the regions of Junín, Apurímac, Ayacucho, Arequipa, Puno and La Libertad.

Also included in this preliminary investigation are Pedro Ángulo, former president of the Council of Ministers and César Cervantes, former Minister of the Interior.
