The state prosecutor demanded to sentence the blogger from Tajikistan Karomatullo Dzhaborov to four years in prison for imitating an attack of coronavirus in the Moscow metro, the press service of the Presnensky Court of Moscow told TASS. The verdict will be announced on August 2.

“During the court hearings, the prosecution requested that the defendants be found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy), and to impose a sentence on K.S. Isachenko and Melekhov are the alleged accomplices of the pranker.

On February 2, 2020, Karomatullo Dzhaborov fell in the carriage of the Moscow metro train, which followed from the Polezhaevskaya station to the Ulitsa 1905 Goda station, simulating a sudden attack from the coronavirus. “At the same time, the accomplices shouted phrases about the presence of a dangerous viral infection, provoking panic among the passengers,” said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.

Mr. Dzhaborov was detained by the police on February 8, and he was ordered not to leave the place. Later it turned out that the pranker did not live at the address indicated in the interrogation protocol. The investigator in charge of the case went to court with a motion to arrest Karomatullo Dzhaborov. The Cheryomushkinsky court in Moscow sent him to a pre-trial detention center.
