A protest was held in the capital Beijing in a very unusual manner with the help of banners against the country’s President Xi Jinping who has imposed the strictest corona restrictions in China.
As he is expected to be elected for a third term as the country’s president on Friday (Oct 14), banners criticizing him over the corona regulations were put up in major parts of the city on Thursday.
However, the Chinese government, ignoring these protests, has categorically stated that it is not going to abandon its strict corona control policies, known as the ‘zero corona policy’.
The Chinese government is still enforcing full corona restrictions in those areas until a single person in the country is corona-free. There has been public opposition to this.
