Tahaffuze Khatme Nabuwat Bangladesh has protested in the capital to demand the arrest of Ramgiri Maharaj, a Hindu priest from Maharashtra who insulted the name of Rasulullah SAW in India, and Nitesh Narayan Rane, a BJP MLA who supported him.

On Friday, activists of the organization took out a protest march at Ba’d Juma Khilgaon intersection. The procession passed through Khilgaon Model College, Taltala Market, Khilgaon Police Station and ended at Khilgaon Crossroads.

Before this, the meeting was held under the chairmanship of Maulana Zahurul Islam, the vice-president of the organization. Allama Muhiuddin Rabbani, secretary general of the organization, was the chief guest in the gathering. He said, “We strongly condemn and protest against the firing of Ramgiri Maharaj, a Hindu priest of Maharashtra, India, and BJP MLA Nitish Narayan Rane, who supports him. The Government of India should arrest them immediately and conduct a fair trial of this incident. Otherwise the diplomatic relations of neighboring Muslim states including Bangladesh will deteriorate with them. The Secretary General claimed that there was a link between their speech and the speech of the Home Minister of India.

He said, if the Indian government does not arrest the culprits quickly, then we will boycott Indian products. If necessary, I will be forced to surround the Indian embassy.
