March led by Sunni organizations to protest the appointment of Sriram Venkataraman as Alappuzha District Collector. District leaders of Kerala Muslim Jamaat, SYS and SSF are leading the march. The Kerala Muslim Jamaat is demanding that the process of appointing Sriram Venkataraman as Alappuzha Collector should be withdrawn.
Meanwhile, the Congress and the Muslim League boycotted the Nehru Trophy Vallamkali Committee meeting. The boycott is part of the protest against Alappuzha Collector Sriram Venkitaraman, who is accused in the case of killing journalist KM Basheer by a car.

Sriram took charge as Alappuzha Collector amid strong protests. Sriram Venkataraman was appointed as Alappuzha Collector in the IAS level. The organization also demanded that Sriram be removed from the post of collector. In 2019, KM Basheer was killed by Sriram Venkataraman in a drunken car crash.
