Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has expressed regret over the death of a person in a shooting incident in Sri Lanka and said the incident would be investigated impartially.
One of the guns in the gunfire conducted by the police to dissolve the protesters in the struggle of Sri Lanka against the price rise yesterday. More than 10 others were injured.
Commenting on the incident, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said, “I am deeply disturbed by the incident that took place in Rambukkana. I have full confidence that a serious and impartial inquiry will be held in this regard. The Sri Lanka Police has been serving the people with the utmost respect. I urge the protesters to join the struggle with dignity. ”
