Time.news – Protesters took to the streets throughout France to protest against the new anti-Covid provisions and in particular the imposition of the Green Pass to access public places and services and mandatory vaccination for some categories. Clashes and tensions occurred in Paris and Lille, where demonstrators threw objects at the police who responded with tear gas. Thousands of people also paraded in Marseille, Strasbourg and Montpellier to the cry of “freedom, freedom”.

The overwhelming majority of French people (76%) approve of President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to make vaccination mandatory for certain categories such as healthcare workers and the imposition of the Green Pass (immunization or negative swab) to access restaurants, cinemas, museums and other similar places.
