MADRID, 4 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

This Sunday, a demonstration against the high cost of living was held in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, called by the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT) union.

The call included a tour of the center of Casablanca, but the Police have finally not allowed the march and after a few small altercations the protesters have agreed to hold a rally in Plaza de la Victoria.

The attendees have called for a fair salary and protection of the pension system led by the main Moroccan opposition union and in a context of high inflation, particularly for food, reports Radio France Internationale (RFI).

The debate focuses mainly on raising the retirement age, but also on the right to strike and wage increases. The leaders of the CDT have promised to continue with their mobilization until their demands are satisfied.
