With a total amount of 121 million DHS, this program, which is part of the new Generation Green strategy, aims to qualify and develop the project areas through development programs for plant and animal agricultural sectors, in particular olive trees, carob trees, cactus and livestock.
It also includes hydro-agricultural development, the construction and rehabilitation of rural tracks and roads, the equipment and creation of water points as well as the development of oases.
At the level of the city of Ait Baha, the minister chaired the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding for the contribution to the financing of development programs in the province of Chtouka Ait Baha between the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, the Council of the Souss-Massa region, the Regional Chamber of Agriculture of Souss-Massa and the provincial council of Chtouka Ait Baha.
This protocol is part of the Generation Green 2020-2030 strategy and aims to contribute to the emergence of an agricultural middle class, the emergence of a new generation of young agricultural entrepreneurs, to contribute to the training of a new generation of efficient and modern professional agricultural organizations, the establishment of a new generation of support systems and the strengthening of the province’s production sectors.
It is also about improving the level of valorization of agricultural products, developing efficient distribution channels through the modernization of wholesale and weekly markets, improving the quality of products and establishing agriculture that is resilient to climate change.
