Province of Taourirt: inauguration and launch of several development projects

Thus, in the commune of Aïn Lahjar, a local socio-sports center created by the Council of the Oriental region as part of a partnership with the Ministry of Youth, the prefecture of the province of Taourirt and the municipality beneficiary of the project, was inaugurated during a ceremony chaired by the governor of the province of Taourirt, Larbi Touijer.

This center, built for a budget of around 4.5 million dirhams, aims to strengthen sports infrastructure and social facilities in the commune of Aïn Lahjar and contribute to the inclusive and sustainable development of the region, in addition to provide sports and social services for the benefit of target categories.

In the commune of El Aïoun Sidi Mellouk, the ”Annakhla” reception center was inaugurated, which required approximately 1.34 million dirhams, as part of the National Initiative for human development (INDH).

Spanning a total area estimated at 1,394 square meters, including 200 square meters covered, the center aims to open new horizons for the benefit of 40 beneficiaries per year and to strengthen their skills to promote their economic integration.

Mr. Touijer also launched a project relating to the construction of a cultural complex in El Aïoun Sidi Mellouk and the development and rehabilitation of Dar El Bacha. The said project will be carried out by the Oriental Regional Project Execution Agency in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Regional Council, the Oriental Development Agency and the municipality concerned, for a cost of more of 17 million dirhams.

The governor also inaugurated at the same time the collection headquarters in El Aïoun Sidi Mellouk built by the General Treasury of the Kingdom for a budget of more than 5.4 million dirhams, with the objective of bringing closer and improving the quality of services provided to citizens.

Furthermore, work was launched on two road projects (5.57 km and 4.65 km) for a total cost of 7.5 million dirhams, entirely financed by the INDH. The objective is to open up remote areas, improve access to basic infrastructure, in addition to promoting economic and tourist activities.

In the town of Taourirt, Mr. Touijer launched the development work on Lamharik Square in the Moulay Ali Cherif district, a 6.4 million dirham project which is part of the urban upgrading of the commune of Taourirt, in addition to the inauguration of a football field in the Hay Essalam district, developed at a cost of 4.8 million dirhams and which has a covered area of 600 square meters and with a capacity of 500 spectators.
