The deputies of the Socialist Party bench, Daniel Manouchehri, Leonardo Soto and Daniella Cicardini, presented a request before the Comptroller’s Office to investigate the contracts of former prosecutor Manuel Guerra with the municipalities of Providencia, Las Condes, La Florida and Lo Barnechea.

Along with this, the parliamentarians request that it be reported what work he was doing in these municipalities, that it be verified if the tasks for which he was hired were carried out and if the contracts were in accordance with the law. The deputies highlighted that Guerra, a few days after leaving the Prosecutor’s Office in 2021, begins his work in the Municipality of Providencia.

The former persecutor served in Providencia between August and December 2021, receiving a monthly salary of 2.5 million, to advise on matters of probity.

Deputy Cicardini stressed that “we ask the Comptroller’s Office to review the hiring that the Municipality of Providencia had from 2021 to 2023, with respect to what tasks Mr. Guerra performed, if it was true that he performed duties. in matters of probity, a question that seems quite curious to us; and also if these amounts are also consistent with the tasks that signed that contract. And, finally, the hiring that the Municipality of Florida had in this figure of Ombudsman of the People, an institution from which Mr. Guerra resigned a few days ago.”

In this regard, La Florida responded that “to date, this municipality has not been notified by the Comptroller General of the Republic about the information request made by the deputies,” adding that, once notified, “it will analyze the background and proceed.” to respond to the supervisory body.”
