PlayStation Plus subscribers on the Extra and Premium tiers can look forward to a new lineup of games launching on October 17. While the highly anticipated addition of The Last of Us Part 2 didn’t materialize, subscribers will still have access to a range of exciting games. Additionally, PlayStation 5 game streaming will be introduced for Premium subscribers later in the month.

Rumors began circulating when The Last of Us Part 2 artwork was featured on some PlayStation Plus promotional banners on the PlayStation Store. However, despite the speculation, the acclaimed game has not been added to the higher Plus tiers at this time.

Instead, one of the highlights of this month’s selection is Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, which is the definitive edition of ZA/UM’s popular detective RPG. Exploring the political and philosophical shadows of a failing regime, the game offers players unexpected possibilities and true role-playing freedom. Another notable addition is Gotham Knights, an action-packed adventure featuring Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin.

For fans of horror, The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is the perfect choice. Known for its short runtime, intelligent writing, and ensemble cast of characters, this installment in the Dark Pictures series takes players on a journey to explore an eerie, abandoned temple.

Other games added to the lineup this month include Far: Changing Tides, Alien: Isolation, Elite Dangerous, and more.

Premium subscribers can also enjoy retro titles, such as Tekken 6, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, Ape Escape Academy, and IQ Final, which will be added to the Classics lineup.

In addition to the game lineup, Premium subscribers will receive extra benefits this month. Streaming access will be granted for select PS5 games in the Game Catalog and Game Trials, as well as supported titles in members’ digital game libraries. Sony plans to make “hundreds” of titles available for streaming, including popular games like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Horizon Forbidden West. However, at launch on October 30 in North America, streaming will only be possible on a PS5 console without downloading the games. More details can be found on the PlayStation Blog.

Furthermore, Sony recently offered Premium subscribers free access to a catalog of up to 100 movies through the new Sony Pictures Core app. Movies like Looper, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, Elysium, and Resident Evil Damnation are included in the selection.
