PSG / CF63: The Clermontois close to the feat

by time news

Dominated but long in front thanks to a goal from Habib Keïta (0-1, 32nd), the Clermontois came very close to a major feat before cracking in front of Gonçalo Ramos in the very last minutes (1-1, 85th). An important point nonetheless.

On the lawn of the Parc des Princes, Clermont Foot 63 suffered, as expected. But the plan put in place bore fruit. It even almost made it possible to achieve an XXL feat against the Ligue 1 leader.

Well in place, the Clermontois were almost not worried during the first act apart from a strike from Achraf Hakimi well repelled by Massamba N’Diaye (21st).

Better still, shortly after half an hour of play, it was they who opened the scoring. On a bell cross from Yohann Magnin, Alan Virginius returned to the penalty spot where Habib Keïta beat Manuel Ugarte who, by blocking the ball, lobbed his goalkeeper (0-1, 32nd).

After having thought of equalizing in added time on a goal from Senny Mayulu (45th + 5) logically canceled after the intervention of the VAR, the Parisians accentuated their domination upon returning from the locker room.

On the hour mark, Achraf Hakimi found the bar. A few minutes later it was Marco Asensio’s turn (71st). The danger was getting closer, but Massamba N’Diaye kept watch against Randal Kolo Muani (62nd) and Gonçalo Ramos (80th).

Unfortunately, Clermont’s efforts were not paid for. After a one-two with Kylian Mbappé, Gonçalo Ramos equalized in the final moments of the game (1-1, 85th).

A draw, the second against PSG this season, which still allows CF63 to take an important point and gain a good dose of confidence before hosting Montpellier next Sunday at 3 p.m.
