PSG: Christophe Galtier placed under personal protection

by time news

Faced with a flood of insults and death threats against its coach, Paris Saint-Germain decided to act. According to information from RMC Sport, which we are able to confirm, the Parisian coach has been placed under personal and family protection, at the initiative of the club.

Christophe Galtier has been at the heart of a lively controversy since Tuesday evening, after the disclosure by the independent journalist Romain Molina, then by RMC Sport, of the content of an email sent by Julien Fournier, former manager of OGC Nice, to the management of INEOS. He then accused the Parisian coach of having mentioned too many “black and Muslim” players in the squad he coached last season.

In the process, the telephone number of Christophe Galtier was broadcast on social networks, in particular on Twitter, as had been able to see Le Parisien. His phone then stopped ringing. Wednesday morning, Christophe Galtier would then have received nearly 5,000 hateful calls and messages, among which were therefore death threats.

The French technician, very affected by this affair, denies having made such comments. In a press release sent to AFP, Me Olivier Martin, Christophe Galtier’s lawyer, indicated that his client had “learned with amazement of the insulting and defamatory remarks” reported and that “legal proceedings” were envisaged. As for Julien Fournier, he denied this Wednesday to Nice-Matin being at the origin of the email leak but did not deny its existence. He said he was “revolted” by the “timing of these revelations”.
