PSG: Oriane Jean-François, new reinforcement for women

by time news

It’s a nice move that Paris Saint-Germain has just made. After hiring Lieke Martens, 5th in the last Ballon d’Or, and former Arsenal goalkeeper Lydia Williams, the capital club announced on Thursday the arrival of a third player, namely the young Oriane Jean-François , 20, who played for Paris FC in recent seasons. While the first two recruits of the summer had been made via Ulrich Ramé, this is the first reinforcement orchestrated by Angelo Castellazzi, the new sports director of the women’s section.

Oriane Jean-François arrives free since she was at the end of her contract with Paris FC at the end of the season. Born in Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni in Guyana, she will come to densify the PSG midfielder which has lost several of its elements in recent weeks: Sara Däbritz (OL), Luana (return to Brazil), Léa Khelifi (Montpellier ) and Aminata Diallo (not extended), not to mention Kheira Hamraoui, who has been back in training since Friday, but on whom PSG no longer counts for next season.

Reservist for the Euro

With the arrival of Oriane Jean-François, coach Gérard Prêcheur – who is preparing to officially succeed Didier Ollé-Nicolle – will be able to rely on a new player full of promise who, despite her young age, has already tasted to the France team (1 selection, October 23, 2020 against Macedonia). She was among the reservists for the Euro which has just ended for the Blues with an elimination at the gates of the final.

In the summer of 2019, this small size (1.64 m) was part of the group that won the European championship with the France U19 team. At her side, there was also Sandy Baltimore, the Parisian winger, whom she will find very soon at PSG.
