Concern remains around the state of health of Sergio Rico. In its daily statement released this Wednesday at midday, the Virgen del Rocío university hospital indicates that the second goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain remains in a “stable” condition.

“After 72 hours of evolution in intensive care at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital in Seville, Sergio Rico remains stable given the severity of his injuries”, we learn in the press release, which does not mention a improvement or worsening of the player’s condition. “He remains under sedation, under close supervision and monitoring, taken care of by the intensive medicine team in consultation with other multidisciplinary specialists”, specifies the press release.

Arrived in El Rocío on the night of Saturday to Sunday, after the trip from PSG to Strasbourg (1-1), the native of Seville took part in the pilgrimage organized each year at Pentecost in the Andalusian town, when he was the victim of an accident involving a horse. He was shot in the head, and suffered in particular from a cranio-encephalic trauma.

As indicated by the hospital on Tuesday, from now on each of the information regarding the state of health of Sergio Rico will be disseminated exclusively by the health establishment itself. Relatives “do not want to make any statement about this very complicated situation they are experiencing”, wrote the hospital.
