This time, it’s the break. The Ultras Paris (CUP) collective, which brings together the noisiest and most festive part of the Parc des Princes, installed in the Auteuil stands, decided on Wednesday to go on strike. They advocate “the total cessation of [leurs] activities including hand and women’s until further notice,” according to the statement they posted on social media.

This impasse comes after a meeting with the management of Paris Saint-Germain. It therefore resulted in a dialogue of the deaf. As a result, the more than 2,000 CUP members will no longer attend their team’s matches, starting with PSG-Ajaccio this Saturday at 9 p.m. They will no longer travel for away matches either, while Paris still has to go to Auxerre and Strasbourg during the last four days of the championship. Marquinhos’ partners are six points ahead of their runner-up, Lens.

These 2000 Ultras, which are joined by thousands of other supporters, have been angry for several weeks after the many sporting or extra-sporting twists and turns of the team, with Leo Messi’s trip to Saudi Arabia without authorization, the defeats in spades in Ligue 1 or the new elimination in the Champions League, in the round of 16 against Bayern Munich. They demand with chorus and cries the resignation of the management at each exit.

“The situation that we consider extremely serious should not be underestimated”

On Sunday, some 150 to 200 Parisian supporters who had traveled to Aube for Troyes – PSG (1-3) saw their tickets canceled by PSG, in retaliation for demonstrations by a fringe of supporters in front of Neymar’s home earlier in the week after a rally outside the club’s headquarters. This initiative had caused a stir in the locker room among the players and the staff. Christophe Galtier had condemned this form of intimidation, slipping: “Regarding the meeting in front of a player’s home, you have to be careful about that and private life remains private life. I can understand the anger, the disappointment of our supporters, the demonstration in front of the headquarters, our workplace, but I do not accept that we go to a player’s home. There may be overflows, because our society has gone mad. »

The Ultras, they denounce in their press release this Wednesday attacks on their independence and their vision of the problems. “The situation that we consider extremely serious in several respects should not be underestimated and we do not intend to compromise on our freedoms. We are waiting for clear answers from the club on several points in order to possibly review our positions. “They continue, before wishing” the best “to all sections of the club for the end of the season: “Our sincere and disinterested attachment to our freedoms, our values and our positions on several subjects of principle seem important and legitimate to us. »

Initially, the CUP had called “to invade” Orléans where the final of the Women’s French Cup is being held this Saturday between PSG and Lyon. For its part, PSG, which will not react officially, takes note of the situation and thinks that a dialogue is still possible between the two parties before the end of the season.
