PSG: towards a summer tour in Japan?

by time news

Paris Saint-Germain could innovate and organize its summer tour in Japan during the second half of July. It would be a first for the Parisian team, which has never been to the land of the Rising Sun during its pre-season preparation since the takeover of Qatar in 2011. However, the Asian continent has always been considered as a buoyant market by the leaders of the PSG, and Japan finds its place in the development of their marketing strategy.

The club of the French capital has also opened three stores in this country, two in Tokyo and one in Nagoya, stores where the jerseys of Mbappé, Messi and others are sold as well as the various merchandising products. On the occasion of the opening of its third store in March 2020, the Parisian club explained in its press release: “Japan becomes the 2nd country in the world for the club in terms of retail sales”.

Marquinhos’ partners are expected to play three friendly matches there, although the contract for this tour has not yet been signed. But Japan is the country that holds the rope. If negotiations fail, the Parisian club could fall back on China, where it has already visited several times in recent years during its pre-season tours, no later than 2019 before the Covid crisis. -19. But other countries are also mentioned as a fallback solution.
