PSG: victim of a muscle injury, Kylian Mbappé uncertain for the reception of Bayern Munich

by time news

The news is not good for Kylian Mbappé. The PSG striker, injured in the first period of PSG’s victory in Montpellier on Wednesday (1-3), passed examinations on Thursday which revealed a hamstring injury to the left thigh. An injury that requires, in principle, three weeks away from the field, according to an internal source at the club.

But for the time being, the Parisian star is not yet forfeited for the reception of Bayern Munich on February 14 in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League. New additional examinations must refine the nature of his injury and therefore the duration of the absence of the 2018 world champion. This also depends on his ability to recover from this injury contracted in the Hérault.

Absent from the clash against OM in the Coupe de France

But this first diagnosis makes it impossible for him to participate in the shock of the knockout stages of the Coupe de France between OM and PSG on February 8 in Marseille. And even if he is retyped for the arrival of the Bavarians in C1 at the Parc des Princes, Kylian Mbappé will have to deal with an amputated preparation for this major meeting at the start of the year for the capital club, beaten in Lens and Rennes and held in check by Reims since the end of the World Cup.

PSG is also awaiting news from another of its executives, Spanish defender Sergio Ramos. The latter also left the lawn prematurely on Wednesday against Montpellier, hit with an adductor. The former Real Madrid player was also undergoing medical examinations on Thursday to determine the severity of his injury and a possible length of absence.
