jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Indonesian Survey Panel (PSI) released the results of a survey on the electability and strength of the prospective candidates for Governor of North Sumatra (Sumut).

PSI Executive Director Mahendra Zaeni said the survey recorded several criteria for regional head candidates desired by the public.

According to Zaeni, as many as 81.6 percent of the public want the governor and deputy governor to have capacity, broad insight, and good leadership skills.

As many as 84.7 percent chose those who have morality or good character which is the foundation in carrying out the mandate of society.

In addition, as many as 60.7 percent want regional head candidates to have financial capabilities.

“The need for funds is a logical consequence for candidates. The costs in question are not for bribing the public, but for accommodating campaign activities and socialization,” said Zaeni in Jakarta, Monday (5/8).

Zaeni said the survey also targeted the level of popularity (well-known), acceptability (accepted), and electability (chosen) for the prospective regional head candidates for North Sumatra.

As a result, the name Nikson Nababan has a popularity level of 82.2 percent, then Edy Rahmayadi has a popularity level of 84.6 percent.

Nikson Nababan’s electability is superior compared to other gubernatorial candidates in the North Sumatra gubernatorial election based on a PSI survey conducted on June 19-31, 2024.
