jpnn.com – JAKARTA – PSM Makassar filed an appeal against the sanction of canceling the three points (victory from Barito Putera) imposed by the PSSI Komdis.

The sanctions follow an incident with 12 PSM players on the field during the BRI Liga 1 match against Barito Putera at the Batakan Stadium, Balikpapan, 22 December.

“PSM Makassar respects the Komdis Decree which contains a three-point cancellation sanction,” read PSM’s official statement on social media.

However, after studying the statements and conclusions of the witnesses, the PSM Legal Team filed an appeal.

According to PSM Manager Muhammad Nur Fajrin, the problem started with an incident with 12 players on the field, which was caused by a technical error in the match equipment.

An official protest was conveyed by PS Barito Putera to the PSSI Komdis, but PSM Makassar previously did not question the incident because they considered it to be in the technical realm of match equipment.

At the Komdis meeting which was held on December 28 2024, the PSM Makassar coach together with the match officials, match commissioner and PS Barito Putera coach gave a statement.

“The substitution made in the 96th minute went according to procedure, but there was a communication error between the central referee and reserve referee which resulted in 12 players on the field,” said Fajrin.

PSM Makassar has attempted to improve the situation by immediately asking the referee to stop the match.
