jpnn.comBANDUNG – Deputy General Chairman (Waketum) of PSSI Zainudin Amali also commented on the chaos regarding the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium, which will be used as a venue for the Sheila On 7 band’s music concert in Bandung City.

The reason is that the stadium management, namely Persib Bandung, never gave permission to use the place as a concert venue, which is planned to be held in early September.

Zainudin Amali said that in football, the stadium must be ready for use during the match.

Between entertainment and sports needs, he sees the need to coexist. Good communication is needed between the concert organizers and the stadium managers.

“For football, what is important is when it is needed for a match, the stadium is good, the grass is still good for the match, there is no problem. However, please do not interfere with each other,” said Zainudin at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Soreang, Bandung Regency, Friday (9/8) night.

The former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) said that the concern regarding the use of stadiums as venues for music concerts was the damage to the grass.

Moreover, currently, GBLA Stadium is still under renovation by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR). The renovation process is planned to be completed by the end of this year.

“For example, after the concert, the grass is damaged and so on. In any stadium, in GBLA, in GBK (Gelora Bung Karno), anywhere, that’s what we’re guarding. Just communicate it,” he said.

On the one hand, said Zainudin, PSSI as the parent organization of football does not want to prohibit concert activities in stadiums, but the quality of the grass and so on must still be maintained.

Therefore, everything was returned to Persib Bandung as the official manager of the international standard stadium.

“Yes, it is under renovation because it (GBLA Stadium) is part of the renovation of 24 stadiums ordered by President Jokowi, including GBLA,” he said.

“As far as I know, GBLA has been working with Persib, so it’s up to them. Now Persib allows it or not,” he said.

Previously, Persib Bandung denied that the GBLA Stadium, which is the home base of the Bandung-based football team, was being used as a concert venue for the band Sheila On 7.

Commissioner of PT. Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB) Umuh Muchtar said that the use of GBLA Stadium as a concert venue for the band Sheila On 7 is a hoax, aka a lie.

Management, he continued, never received a letter requesting permission to use the stadium.

“There is no GBLA stadium used for concerts, that’s a lie, there is none. There are no concerts, we take care of GBLA and everything is for the good of Persib,” said Umuh in Bandung, Monday (5/8).

According to Umuh, until now the GBLA Stadium is still under renovation after its management was handed over from the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) to PT. PBB.

Umuh then asked the concert promoter to take responsibility for the information circulating.

The reason is, the use of GBLA Stadium as a concert venue was carried out without permission and notification from Persib management.

“That’s his responsibility, from where. Who gave permission? Later if the field is damaged, we will be mocked again by Bobotoh. Why hand it over from the City Government to Persib, and we will take care of everything, we will fix it, the field will be even more beautiful later,” said Umuh firmly. (mcr27/jpnn)
