PSV Eindhoven won the Johan Cruyff Shield tonight (Saturday), the Dutch Super Cup named after the late legendary footballer. The cup holder beat the champion Ajax 3:5 and lifted the cup for the second time in a row after the memorable 0:4 last year.
The big star tonight in Amsterdam was Hus Til, who last year shone in the Feyenoord uniform on loan from Spartak Moscow and at the beginning of July was sold to Eindhoven for only about 3 million euros. Ajax actually led 0:1 from a goal by the acquired player Steven Barhwein in the 15th minute, but Til scored a pair (32 and 45+2) to make it 1:2 going into the break. Anthony equalized to 2:2 in the 54th minute, but Cody Gakpo (65) and Till (69) brought PSV up to 2:4. Mohamed Kodos narrowed it to 4:3 (72) before Xavi Simmons sealed the result in extra time.
