Some pregnant women are subjected to various forms of violence during childbirth, and are not adequately provided with adequate health care.

Hindi explained that childbirth violence takes many forms, including repeated vaginal examinations before childbirth, stimuli for excessive labor, medical neglect, physical abuse of women during childbirth by medical staff, denial of pain medication, lack of privacy, and lack of awareness of women. Her rights, which include choosing the type of delivery, whether natural or cesarean.
Forms of violence during childbirth also include the absence of care rooms and nurseries in hospitals, and the narrowing of the vaginal opening, in order for the husband to enjoy intimate relationship, and sometimes the woman is subjected to it without her knowledge.

The psychological damage of childbirth violence
The mental health consultant explained that forms of childbirth violence result in severe psychological damage to women, as represented by the following:
Women’s feeling of powerlessness.
Psychological incompetence.
Feeling low.
A woman may refrain from having children again.
Reluctance to seek health care afterwards.
Childbirth phobia.
Post-pregnancy depression, which may last for long periods.
Abstaining from others.
Constant crying.
The speed of nervous excitability.
